The only update it actually needs is a launcher patch because some people have run into a problem with the launcher looking for an older version of a program that is actually bugged for them and they end up needing to manually launch the game from the folder instead of through steam, and reinstalling it and/or re-verifying it won't work for some reason, so technically its probably steam's fault somewhere since the rest of the game still runs fine. They considered it finished and were ready to move on to their next project, several games later they're still making games that are also pretty enjoyable. Farsky interactive is still the name of their company, they're still proud of the game, but it is what it was intended to be, a closed and completed game not a constantly updating game like so many others of the modern age always being added to with dlc and extra content. They didnt close up shop, they moved on to other games, they released another game just last year, and are now working on another as far as i heard.
